3.2.2 Regional Pumping Patterns
Active wells pumping water from the basin are shown in Figure 3-8. The approximately 200large- system wells account for an estimated 97 percent of the total basin production. The remaining three percent of total basin production includes agricultural and industrial producers, small mutual water companies, domestic well producers, and production from privately-owned wells. As can be seen in Figure 3-8, groundwater production is distributed throughout the basin. Please note that due to the recent impacts of COVID and PFAS, data from WY2018-19 is presented to show the typical average distribution of pumping in the basin.
