3.2.6 Groundwater and Surface Water Interactions and Groundwater Dependent Ecosystems
The primary surface water drainage in the South East Management Area is Serrano Creek. Serrano Creek is an intermittent stream that only flows during the rainy season following storm events. The predominant interaction between the surface flow in the creek and groundwater is percolation from the creek and recharge of the groundwater (see Boyle 2002 Groundwater Supply Evaluation study).
