Current and Projected Use of Recycled Water
DWR Table 6-5 shows IRWD’s actual 2025 recycled water use compared with the projected recycled water use in the 2020 UWMP. The 2025 actual recycled water use is very similar to the 2020 projection for 2025 water use. The 2025 actual recycled water use is approximately 2% less than what was projected in 2020.

Optimizing Future Recycled Water Use – Recycled Water Projects
IRWD was formed in 1961 when the service area was largely undeveloped. As development occurred, IRWD worked with developers to design and construct the infrastructure necessary to deliver recycled water to new communities. Those developers, who were responsible for constructing schools, parks, homeowner’s associations, and other community facilities,
